Classical music flashmobs are all the rage right now – and are something we just love here at the Two Moors Festival. We can’t think of anything better than people going about their daily business suddenly being confronted by a group of madcap musicians doing an impromptu performance of Grieg’s Peer Gynt and then vanishing as quickly as they appeared.
And this example – where students from West Herts College in Watford appeared among an audience waiting for the BBC Concert Orchestra’s event Wolfe: Adventures in Sound at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall clicking, clapping, stomping their feet and singing – really did bring a smile to our faces.
