New York Phil conductor on Sesame Street!

We’re absolutely in love with this amazing little clip showing conductor of the New York Philharmonia Alan Gilbert giving the residents of Sesame Street a crash course in conducting.

What a great idea and certainly one sure-fire way to get kids interested in classical music from an early age. Gilbert and some students from New York’s Juilliard School show the very lovable Murray Monster how to conduct a slowed-down rendition of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. If only we’d had this when we were young!
